The team went to see the 2017 remake of Stephen King\u2019s \u201cIT\u201d. IT was made famous by Stephen King\u2019s iconic novel and the 1990 TV miniseries, starring the great Tim Curry as Pennywise the Dancing Clown.<\/p>\n<p>This version of IT takes place between 1988-1989 and brings on full blown 80\u2019s nostalgia, drawing comparison to the smash-hit Netflix Original Series \u201cStranger Things.\u201d In the movie the group of friends known\u00a0 as \u201cThe Loser\u2019s Club\u201d take on a strange force that takes hold in the fictional Derry, Maine every 27 years. This results in the disappearance of many kids, and some adults, from the town. As the kids start to solve the mystery, they have to face their greatest fears.<\/p>\n<p>The movie opens the same way as the book and the 1990 TV miniseries with the famous \u201cgutter scene\u201d, where six-year-old Georgie Denbrough encounters Pennywise in a street sewer gutter when his paper boat goes into it by mistake during a rain storm.<\/p>\n<p>It is from this moment on that it\u2019s clear why \u201cIT\u201d has its R-rating. Not only is Pennywise more menacing towards the children in this version, but it is significantly more violent. Be prepared for this if you plan to see it. Even more so, clowns are always scary anyway.<\/p>\n<p>The team, overall, enjoyed the movie. There was no score lower than 4\/5. There was great 80\u2019s nostalgia, genuinely terrifying moments, and wonderful comedic relief as well. There is also some plot holes in the film, but do not distract too much from the overall enjoyment. If you\u2019re looking to be scared this Halloween, \u201cIT\u201d is a great choice!
