Jasper Drive. The free community event is designed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.danielstark.com\/es\/news\/daniel-stark-injury-lawyers-promotes-child-safety-at-17th-annual-car-seat-safety-event-in-bryan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">help parents and caregivers keep their children safe<\/a> and secure while travelling.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For nearly two decades, Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers has partnered with Texas A&amp;M AgriLife Extension and Safe a Life TxDot to distribute and install free car seats for Texas families. Certified child passenger safety technicians will be on site to evaluate car seats for proper installation, check for expiration dates or damage, and provide replacements when needed. Families also will receive hands-on guidance in securing harnesses, positioning booster seats and understanding which seat is appropriate based on a child\u2019s age and size.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The need for events like this is clear. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.txdot.gov\/about\/newsroom\/statewide\/2022\/child-car-seats-save-lives-but-nearly-half-are-misused.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nearly 46% of car seats are misused<\/a>. Research from the National Safety Council shows that <a href=\"https:\/\/injuryfacts.nsc.org\/motor-vehicle\/occupant-protection\/child-restraint\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">car seats reduce the risk of fatal injury<\/a> by 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers traveling in passenger vehicles. In 2023, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trafficsafetymarketing.gov\/safety-topics\/child-safety\/car-seats-boosters-seat-belts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more than 700 children under 14 died and more than 125,000 were injured in vehicle crashes<\/a> \u2014 many due to improper restraint.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI understand firsthand the uncertainty that can come with installing a car seat \u2014 wondering whether it\u2019s done correctly and if our children are truly safe,\u201d said attorney Michael Loh. \u201cThat\u2019s why having certified technicians available is so important; they provide peace of mind and help ensure the safety of our kids.
