Austin, Texas — Texas personal injury law firm Daniel Stark successfully secured a $4 million settlement for their client in an intoxicated driving case.
The case involved an intoxicated driver who ran a stop sign near Austin, Texas. The defendant driver collided with the client’s truck, causing extensive damage to both vehicles. The defendant had a history of previous DWI offenses and was found to be intoxicated with a blood alcohol content level of 0.133 at the time of the crash.
The collision resulted in severe injuries to Daniel Stark’s client, which has impacted his ability to work. Additionally, the client’s truck caught fire at the tow yard where it was taken after the wreck. The fire destroyed the client’s deceased daughter’s ashes, which were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Settlement negotiations began in April 2023, with the defendant’s insurance carrier initially offering $627,000. By October 2023, the insurance carrier agreed to a $4 million settlement, offering the full policy limits. With the help of the Daniel Stark team, their client recovered the full value of his physical injuries, property damage, and mental anguish following the loss of his daughter’s ashes.
