One of the reasons the Daniel Stark Law family works so hard to be a successful local business is our desire to support our local community. Through the month of October, we are proud to partner with one of our favorite local groups, the Down Syndrome Association of Brazos Valley, by donating $1 for every new Facebook follower. All you have to do is “Like” Daniel Stark Law on Facebook between now and October 31, and we’ll donate $1 to the organization.

We also encourage you to sign up to participate in the 15th Annual Buddy Walk, on October 7. Register online now.

Founded in 2002, the Down Syndrome Association of Brazos Valley is a registered 501(c)(3) organization that supports individuals with Down syndrome and gives them tools to help them reach their highest level of independence and productivity. DSABV provides support, community, friendships and advocacy to our members with Down syndrome and families.

The group’s mission and purpose is to make Brazos Valley a place where individuals with Down syndrome can live, thrive & give back to their community, so that everyone with Down syndrome to have the skills and experiences they need to live the life of their choosing.

This year is the organization’s 15th Annual Buddy Walk & 2nd Annual 5K with a “Little Extra.” People with Down syndrome have an extra chromosome, so this race has a little something EXTRA too – Official times will be recorded at the 5K finish line, then runners will go on to DASH the extra 0.11 miles to finish at 3.21 miles, in honor of the 3rd copy of the 21st chromosome present in people wit

h Down syndrome. And if you’re lucky, you may be accompanied through the second finish line by DASHers with Down syndrome to cheer you on and thank you for your support of cognitive research and education programs that will contribute to their ability to reach their own full potential.
