With Christmas right around the corner and Black Friday deals just behind us, many families are already stocking up on gifts for the kids. If youโ€™ve been doing some early shopping, now is the perfect time to double-check that the toys and childrenโ€™s products in your cart (or already wrapped under the tree) are safe. Each year, dozens of items are recalled for hazards ranging from choking risks to faulty parts, and 2025 has been no exception. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and other safety agencies have issued recalls affecting everything from ride-on toys and helmets to stocking-stuffer magnets and baby gear.

As a parent, grandparent, or gift-giver, it’s important to be aware of these recalls โ€“ if you have purchased any of these items for personal use or as a gift, stop using them immediately. Many companies are offering refunds, returns, or replacement parts.

We have compiled a list of the most notable childrenโ€™s product recalls of 2025 to help you spot risky items, check your home or gift pile, and keep the kids in your life safe during the holiday season.

Ride-On Toys and Helmets

Trek Bike Recall, Konges 3-Wheeled Scooters Recall, Outdoor Master Helmets Recall

Trek and Electra Brand Bikes

Bikes are a popular gift for children of all ages! However, itโ€™s important to be aware of the risks associated with common brands. In November 2025, Trek issued a recall for certain Trek and Electra-branded bicycles equipped with coaster brakes, as well as replacement rear wheels with coaster brakes. The coaster brakes can fail to engage, which may cause riders (especially children) to lose control and crash.

Ride-on toys and bicycles are among the most recalled categories due to falls, crashes, helmet failures, and parts detaching. Routinely check the bikeโ€™s condition, ensure helmets fit properly, and verify that they meet safety standards.

Konges Slรธjd 3-Wheeled Scooters

Similarly, there’s been a recent recall for 3-wheeled childrenโ€™s scooters sold by Konges Slรธjd. The recall affected about 50 scooters after reports that the left front wheel could detach during use, causing falls and injuries. There were reports of broken arms and even a child losing a tooth. Parents are urged to discontinue use immediately and request a refund from the company. If you have one of these scooters or are considering buying one second-hand, double-check with the company or CPSC recall list first.

Outdoor Master Children and Youth Helmets

One of the biggest 2025 recalls came for childrenโ€™s helmets from Outdoor Master because they failed to meet mandatory safety standards for bicycle helmets. Specifically, they violated requirements for positional stability and coverage, meaning that in a crash, the helmets might not protect a childโ€™s head properly. The recall affects multiple models imported and sold online and at retailers. Helmet recalls are especially concerning because they defeat the very purpose of wearing a helmet โ€“ head protection. If you own one, treat this as an urgent matter.

Stocking Stuffers

Magnet Fidget Spinner Recall, Zippee Activity Toys Recall, Destination Holiday Glow Stick Recall

Anzmtosn Magnet Fidget Spinner Sets

As many parents know, finding stocking stuffers that are worth the money is a difficult task. We often lead to affordable, small items that children will enjoy, and fidget spinners are all the rage right now! However, the CPSC issued a recall for Anzmtosn Magnet Fidget Spinner Sets because their magnets are small and extremely powerful. If swallowed, they can become trapped inside a childโ€™s body, causing intestinal blockages, perforations, infections, or even death. Because of this serious risk, the recall asks all consumers to stop using the product and request a refund. Magnetic toys may look harmless and even fun, but as many safety experts stress, the dangers of magnet ingestion are real and severe.

Zippee Activity Toys

Also in November 2025, a recall was announced for childrenโ€™s silicone activity toys sold by Zippee due to the risk of choking. According to CPSC, the body of the toy may come apart or contain small parts that young children could choke on. As often proven by toy recalls, even items that look soft and child-friendly can contain hidden hazards.

Destination Holiday Glow Light Stick Bracelets

Glow sticks are often popular stocking stuffers, so itโ€™s important to know that a recall was issued by H-E-B for Destination Holiday Glow Light Stick Bracelets, sold in 12-pack containers. The green glow stick bracelet inside the pack can leak, posing a risk of skin irritation to children and adults. Around 6,600 units were affected. If Santa dropped some glow sticks in your childโ€™s stocking this year, check to see if they were affected by this recall!

Baby Products

Anna Queen Play Yard Recalls, AliExpress 4-in-1 Stroller Recall, Sanven Technology Baby Swing Recall

Anna Queen Play Yards

Pack โ€˜n Plays or play yards can be a lifesaver for parents โ€“ when they are actually safe! Unfortunately, in November 2025, a recall was issued for Anna Queen play yards sold on Amazon after it was discovered that infants can become entrapped under the mattress or trapped between the mattress and the side of the play yard, creating a serious risk of injury or even deadly suffocation. About 70 units were affected. Consumers are advised to stop using the play yards immediately and request a refund.

AliExpress 4-in-1 Baby Safety Cart Carriage

Another popular baby gift was recalled in November 2025 โ€“ the 4-in-1 Baby Safety Cart Carriage sold through AliExpress. The stroller fails to meet mandatory federal safety standards due to a defective restraint system that can fail during use. This creates a serious risk of falls and potentially life-threatening injuries. About 15 units were included in the recall. When purchasing baby transport products, especially those purchased from online marketplaces, itโ€™s important to check that they comply with certified safety standards.

Sanven Technology Vevor Baby Swings

Baby swings are supposed to be soothing for the baby, not dangerous. Yet, in November 2025, a recall was issued for Vevor Baby Swings sold by Sanven Technology. These swings were marketed for infant sleep but feature an incline greater than 10 degrees โ€” a direct violation of the mandatory safety standard for Infant Sleep Products and the federal ban on inclined sleepers under the Safe Sleep for Babies Act. Because inclined sleep products significantly increase the risk of deadly suffocation, the swings pose a serious hazard. About 1,020 units were affected. Itโ€™s an important reminder that no infant product marketed for sleep should have an incline. Always double-check that baby gear follows the latest safe-sleep guidelines.

Pajamas

Mallimoda Pajama Set Recall, Zigjoy Toddler Sleep Sack Recall, Umeyda Nightgowns Recall

Mallimoda Childrenโ€™s Pajama Sets

In many households, Christmas pajamas are a yearly tradition! Thatโ€™s why itโ€™s important to highlight that the Mallimoda Childrenโ€™s Pajama Sets were recalled after failing to meet mandatory federal flammability standards for childrenโ€™s sleepwear. Because the fabric does not properly resist ignition, the pajamas pose a risk of severe injuries or even deadly burn hazards to children. About 2,100 sets were included in the recall. All childrenโ€™s sleepwear must meet strict fire-safety requirements, and even everyday clothing can become dangerous if it fails to comply.

Zigjoy Toddler Sleep Sacks with Feet

Similarly, a recall was issued for Zigjoy Toddler Sleep Sacks with Feet after they were found to violate mandatory flammability standards for childrenโ€™s sleepwear. Because the fabric does not meet required fire-safety levels, the sleep sacks pose a burn hazard and a risk of serious injury or even death to children. About 700 units were affected.

Umeyda Nightgowns

Finally, Umeyda Nightgowns for children were recalled for the same issue โ€“ they failed to meet mandatory federal flammability standards for sleepwear, and therefore, pose a risk of burn injuries to children. About 200 units were included in the recall.

Toys

Bettina Doll Set with Magic Light Unicorn Recall, Inkari Plush Alpaca Recall, Generic Magnetic Balls Recall

Bettina Doll Set with Magic Light Unicorn

Dolls and Barbies are the go-to gifts for young girls, but the Bettina Doll Set with Magic Light Unicorn was recalled for violating mandatory toy safety standards. The battery compartment of the unicorn contains button cell batteries that can be easily accessed by children. If swallowed, these batteries can cause serious internal injuries, chemical burns, or even death. About 380 units were affected. Popular dolls with electronic features can pose serious hazards if battery compartments are not properly secured.

Inkari Plush Alpaca Toys

Even soft, seemingly safe plush toys can present hidden dangers for young children, especially when small parts are accessible. The Inkari Plush Alpaca Toys were recalled because the eyes on the toys can detach, violating the small parts ban for children under three years of age. This poses a serious choking hazard, and about 64,000 units were affected. If your child has alpaca friends under the tree this year, check to see if they are affected by the recall!

Generic Magnetic Balls 1000pcs

This is one of the most serious and well-documented hazards in 2025. A recall was issued for generic magnetic ball sets (sold under various brand names) because the loose magnets pose a grave ingestion hazard. If swallowed, rare-earth magnets can attract to each other inside a childโ€™s body and cause intestinal perforations, blockage, infection, or even death. The CPSC strongly warns consumers to stop using the sets immediately and remove them from homes with children.

2025 has again been a busy year for product recalls affecting childrenโ€™s toys, gear, and gifts. From ride-on scooters and helmets to magnet toys and baby gear, many products parents might consider harmless turned out to pose serious risks.

As a parent, caregiver, or gift-giver, always check whether a toy or child product has been recalled before use. Register new toys with the manufacturer when possible (some recalls rely on direct contact) and never assume that because a brand is popular, it’s safe. Even well-known or online-only brands can fail to meet safety standards. For second-hand gifts or items passed along from others, verify recalls and safety compliance before giving them to a child. Safety isnโ€™t always glamorous, but itโ€™s the most important aspect of any childrenโ€™s gift. The few minutes you spend checking a recall list could prevent serious injury or worse.
