KILLEEN, Texas — Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers will host their annual free Car Seat Safety Event in Killeen on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Daniel Stark Killeen office, 201 W. Jasper Drive. The free community event is designed to help parents and caregivers keep their children safe and secure while travelling.
For nearly two decades, Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers has partnered with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and Safe a Life TxDot to distribute and install free car seats for Texas families. Certified child passenger safety technicians will be on site to evaluate car seats for proper installation, check for expiration dates or damage, and provide replacements when needed. Families also will receive hands-on guidance in securing harnesses, positioning booster seats and understanding which seat is appropriate based on a child’s age and size.
The need for events like this is clear. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that nearly 46% of car seats are misused. Research from the National Safety Council shows that car seats reduce the risk of fatal injury by 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers traveling in passenger vehicles. In 2023, more than 700 children under 14 died and more than 125,000 were injured in vehicle crashes — many due to improper restraint.

Appointments are encouraged, as families with reservations will be served first. Walk-ins are welcome, but availability may be limited.
