BRYAN, Texas โ Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers, a Texas-based plaintiffโs personal injury firm, is proud to announce the five winners of the 2025 Extraordinary Scholarship. Each year, Daniel Stark selects five extraordinary high school seniors to receive $1,000 toward their college tuition for the resilience, leadership and dedication they bring to their communities.
This yearโs scholarship prompt challenged students to reflect on:
โHow have you demonstrated leadership in unexpected situations, and what was the effect on those around you?โ
The Extraordinary Scholarship was created on the belief that academic achievements arenโt the only measure of a studentโs greatness. The struggles students face, the obstacles they overcome, and the dedication they pour back into their communities are just as important and worth celebrating.
“At Daniel Stark, we created this scholarship because we believe in investing in students who demonstrate strong character, leadership, and a commitment to making a positive impact,โ Madeline Rutherford, Daniel Stark community coordinator said. โHigher education can be a financial challenge, and we want to do our part to support the young leaders in our community who are working hard to build something better. Thatโs why every application is personally reviewed, and why we take the selection process so seriously. The students we ultimately select are the ones who truly embody the values that drive our firm forward.”
In reviewing this yearโs applicants, the selection committee was particularly moved by the studentsโ resilience in the face of adversity. Their stories serve as powerful reminders that meaningful change often begins with a single voice willing to step up in difficult times.

โI knew I was going to college but being first-generation and low-income made that path much more challenging,โ winner Jamie Coss said. โThis scholarship represents years of hard work paying off and brings me one step closer to achieving my dreams of being a scholar immersed in my studiesโnot forced to choose between excellence in the classroom or putting in more hours at my job to pay tuition.โย
โThis scholarship will be a huge help to my family,โ Alexis Kempt added. โThey have always supported my dreams of playing softball in college. When I fell in love with the program at ETBU, we knew it would be a challenge financially, but they said, โWe will make it work.โ This scholarship helps make my dreams come true.โ
