John Sydow was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, where he developed a strong appreciation for history, service, and community. He earned dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Theology from Saint Louis University in 2016. His studies strengthened his analytical thinking, communication skills, and understanding of people.
Although he’ll always be proud of his Midwest roots, he knew Texas was where he wanted to build his future. In 2019, John made the move to Texas to attend law school and has proudly called the Lone Star State home ever since.
John attended St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2022. During law school, he built the legal foundation that prepared him to advocate effectively for clients both inside and outside the courtroom.
Before joining Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers, John worked as an attorney for the Texas Office of the Attorney General in the Law Enforcement Defense Division. In that role, he gained valuable litigation experience representing law enforcement officers and state agencies in complex legal matters.
Interestingly, John’s path to Daniel Stark began from the opposite side of the courtroom. While practicing with the Attorney General’s Office, he litigated against several Daniel Stark attorneys. Their professionalism, courtesy, and commitment to excellence left a lasting impression. When he later saw an opportunity to join the firm through LinkedIn, he knew it was a place where he wanted to build his career.
John joined Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers as a litigation attorney in July 2025. Today, he represents injured Texans, helping clients navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
What stands out most to him is the firm’s culture.

When he’s not practicing law, John enjoys experiencing everything Texas has to offer. He can often be found attending concerts and live music events, especially at local honky-tonks, trying new restaurants ranging from fine dining to classic burger joints, orpracticing his two-stepping (a skill he admits is still a work in progress).
John also enjoys reading, strategy games, horseback riding, and spending time with friends exploring Austin and the rest of Texas. A devoted sports fan, he cheers for the St. Louis Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, and St. Louis Blues. He is also active in his Catholic faith and values spending time with his church community.
