Summer in Austin and its neighboring cities – Round Rock, Pflugerville, and Georgetown – is a vibrant season filled with opportunities for children to explore, learn, and grow. However, summer can be stressful for working parents! Thankfully, Austin is filled with exciting opportunities to keep your child entertained (and out of the house for a bit)! Here’s a list of some of the best summer camps in Austin and surrounding areas for 2025. 

1. Camp Doublecreek

Camp Doublecreek is one of the best day camps in Austin! They have been serving the Austin area for over 50 years. Known for its unplugged, outdoor-focused programs, this camp has a little something for every child including archery, swimming, arts and crafts, and horseback riding. There are multiple locations throughout Georgetown, Pflugerville, and Austin. No need to worry about how to get your child to camp before rushing into work. If you live in the Austin area, they will provide transportation for your child! 

2. Round Rock Parks and Recreation Summer Camps

The City of Round Rock’s Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of summer camps, including athletic leagues, swim lessons, and kids’ camps. These programs are designed to keep children active and engaged throughout the summer. 

3. Pflugerville Pfun Camps 

Location: Pflugerville, TX 

Ages: Grades 1–10

Pflugerville’s Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the infamous Pfun Camp this summer! This isn’t your ordinary weekend camp – they are offering nine week-long sessions all summer long. With a mix of fun and educational activities, your child is guaranteed to have an enjoyable and enriching summer experience. 

4. Georgetown Parks and Recreation Camps 

Location: Georgetown, TX 

Ages: 6–18

Georgetown has tons of fun summer camp opportunities, but some of our favorites come from its Parks and Recreation Department. They have camps for everything from sports to art, and even adventure camps! If your child wants to be more active, the Speed and Agility Camp and Soccer Skills Camp are focused on building athletic abilities. If your child is new to sports, the Sports Discovery Camp is for children to try new sports in a fun environment. 

5. Mission Wild Camp by Earth Native Wilderness School 

Location: Garey Park, Georgetown, TX 

Ages: 6–10

Set in the scenic Garey Park, Mission Wild Camp offers children an immersive nature experience. Campers engage in activities like hiking, wildlife tracking, and outdoor survival skills, fostering a deep connection with the natural world.
